ProfiDAT

ProfiDAT^® is a contactless data transfer solution for communication between stationary and mobile control units. ProfiDAT^® enables reliable transfer of mixed data (control, video and audio) at very high data rates (up to 260 Mbps per mobile unit) with low latency. The unique configuration of waveguide and mobile antennas results in a system with integrated shielding. This isolation means that ProfiDAT^® can safely transfer data, even in the most challenging radio environments (e.g. in shipping container terminals).

ProfiDAT^® is excellently suited for integration into conductor rail systems because the waveguide profile has been engineered for dual use as protective earth (PE) conductor rail. This results in a very compact, complete system because an additional PE conductor rail is not required.

When is ProfiDAT used?

ProfiDAT^® is used to guarantee a safe and reliable data transmission to mobile consumers.
This is especially important in critical port environments where the ProfiDAT^® system allows a data transmission with the highest data rates. ProfiDAT^® complements our proven conductor rail system and can additionally assume the function of the PE. This allows for a very compact design.

Why is ProfiDAT used?

ProfiDAT^® is used for the following reasons:

How does ProfiDAT work?

The data transmission system ProfiDAT^® is used for data communications, between the base frame and the movable crane trolley. Beside the possibility of transmitting data, the ProfiDAT® profiles can also be used as a grounding conductor rail (PE). The ProfiDAT^® system is based on the slotted waveguide technology. In this particular profile, the radio wave is purposefully directed.

What transmission rates are possible?

Depending on the system length and the number of consumers (clients), the clients have to divide the total transmission rate of the stationary acces point per section. The transmission rates of the acces points depending on their used Wi-Fi standard (n/ac/ax), from 100 Mbps to 1000 Mbps.
